CALIFORNIA – CEO Twitter Jack Dorsey mocked the idea of the “metaverse” concept of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Metaverse divides Facebook as the company’s future direction. This is a concept where the internet of the future feels very real. Instead of accessing the web via laptops and mobile phones, people will use virtual-reality and augmented-reality devices to enter virtual spaces.

Reporting from Business Insider, Friday (22/10), Dorsey said that Mark Zuckerberg’s metaverse idea is a dystopia.
Dystopia is a world condition that is inversely proportional to utopia. If utopia is described as a condition of a perfect future, prosperous and dreamed of, then dystopia is a very bad condition, deprived, depressed and full of terror.
A user Twitter tweeted Zuckerberg’s metaverse ambitions. He mentions the term metaverse was first coined by science fiction writer Neal Stephenson in his 1992 novel Snow Crash. “The novel describes a virtual world owned by a company, where end users are treated as citizens in a dystopian corporate dictatorship. What if Neal is right?”
Reportedly earlier, Mark Zuckerberg told The Verge in July that he wanted Facebook to eventually become a “metaverse company,”.
And recently Facebook announced they intend to employ 10,000 people in Europe over the next five years to help build the metaverse.

The Verge reports that Facebook is considering rebranding and changing its name to focus more on its metaverse ambitions.
