Champions League, 1/2 finals, first legs
Borussia W – PSG – 1:0
Key: Füllkrug, 36
By the middle of the first half, the teams managed to exchange dangerous chances. Dortmund’s Sabitzer was unable to beat Donnarumma from a few meters after Brandt’s pass from deep. In response, the Parisian Dembele just missed the top nine.
The “bumblebees” seemed more specific in their attacks. In the end, it was Borussia who went into the locker room with a goal to their name. In the 36th minute, Dortmund played a simple but effective combination – Schlotterbeck from his own half brought Füllkrug to meet the keeper, and he sent the ball into the net with two touches.
It became much more interesting after the break. Predictably, the guests were the first to show activity. Barkola only crushed Kobel with a long-range shot. But Mbappe hit the far post from outside the penalty area, and Hakimi shot into the near post during finishing! Ruiz subsequently headed the ball wide of the goal after Vitinny’s cross.
Later the hosts took over the baton. Here Brandt sent the ball near the post with a rebound from the entrance to the penalty area. But after Füllkrug broke through on the left flank, one of the “bumblebees” did not have time to close the striker’s cross. In the final, PSG increased their momentum, and Dembele became the engine of the Parisians’ attacks. He shot himself and assisted his partners, but the ball stubbornly went around the Borussia goal.
In the end, Dortmund held onto the winning score. However, the fate of the ticket to the final will be determined in Paris. The return match will take place at the Parc des Princes on May 7.
