As part of the trip to the USA, the BVB pros will meet English top club Chelsea in summer 2023 in Chicago.
Under the motto “Back in Black & Yellow”, Borussia Dortmund will return to the USA in July and August after a four-year break due to the pandemic. The second game will be against English Premier League club Chelsea. The game kicks off at 7.30pm local time on August 2nd at Soldier Field. The best tickets are available from Monday (1 May, 4 p.m.) in the pre-sale. The public sale starts on Tuesday (May 2, 4 p.m.). In the game against the Londoners, there is also a reunion with former BVB professional Christian Pulisic. The two clubs only met in the round of 16 of this year’s Champions League season when BVB lost to the “Blues” (1-0, 0-2).
“A few days after the game against Manchester United in Las Vegas, we are delighted to meet Chelsea, another Premier League heavyweight. We recently played each other in the UEFA Champions League knockout stage and we still have a score to settle. In addition, the return to Chicago and Soldier Field is something very special for us, almost like a second home, because we will be playing here for the third time,” explains BVB Managing Director Carsten Cramer.
After 1954, 2018 and 2019, Black and Yellow will make the fourth trip across the Atlantic this summer and play at Soldier Field for the third time in the club’s history. Sponsored by the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga and main sponsor EVONIK, BVB will be visiting several cities in the west and mid-west of the country from the end of July. A comparison with the English record champions Manchester United has already been announced. The game will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on July 30th, kick-off is 6pm local time.
