DORTMUND (GERMANY) (ITALPRESS) – Borussia Dortmund is celebrating, beating PSV 2-0 at home and gaining a pass for the quarter-finals. It was the goals from Sancho at the start and from Reus in full injury time that decided the contest. After just over a minute, the yellow and blacks created a great opportunity when Maatsen took advantage of a favorable rebound to shoot with his left foot, finding Benitez ready to save over the crossbar. It’s the prelude to the advantage that will arrive already in the 3rd minute. Til clears badly and Brandt serves Sancho, who shoots with a low right-footed shot that grazes the inside post and goes behind the goalkeeper to make it 1-0. In the 16th minute it takes a double intervention from Benitez to first block a right-footed shot from Brandt and then a close range tap from Malen. The former player tries again in the 27th minute, but his shot from a tight angle goes just wide. After the initial dominance of the hosts, the Dutch came out of their shell at a distance but without managing to concretely worry Kobel. The first half ends 1-0. Three minutes into the second half the challenge between Malen and Benitez is repeated, with the goalkeeper once again having the upper hand when he manages to block a treacherous right-footed shot from his opponent. The guests become dangerous in the 8th minute, when the newly introduced Lozano throws a great right-footed shot from over 20 meters which hits the post and ends up at the bottom. Three minutes later it took a save from Kobel to save a corner from Teze, who shot with his right foot from a tight angle. The Germans meet again in the 19th minute, when Fullkrug scores a cross from the right from the usual Malen but Benitez dives it. Bosz’s men raise their center of gravity and in the 26th minute an open-handed save from Kobel is needed to neutralize Bakayoko’s right-footed shot. In the 39th minute, the newly introduced Adeyemi risks causing a mess in his area when he sweeps badly, effectively giving possession to De Jong, who goes to shoot with his left foot but finds Kobel attentive to the save in two stages. At the end, De Jong himself has the ball to make it 1-1 on his left foot but shoots it sky high a few steps from the goalkeeper. On the reversal in front, Babadi becomes the protagonist of a sensational smooth shot that paves the way for Reus, who scores the 2-0 after which Orsato blows the whistle for the end of the match.
