Borussia Dortmund is understood to be trying to convince Erling Haaland to stay at the club until 2023, according to a report.
Haaland He is one of the most in-demand players in Europe after his goalscoring feats in recent seasons. And his form shows no signs of slowing down this time with 11 goals in eight games.
His 41-goal loot last season has had several clubs staring at the former RB Salzburg star, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
United tried to land the striker when they signed for Dortmund, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer flew in to meet the former Molde player. However, United were unable to close a deal and Dortmund got it for just £ 17.1 million.
This summer no one could keep the 21-year-old from Borussia Dortmund. BVB made it clear that he would stay for at least one more season, with his contract effective until 2024.
But his agent Mino Raiola inserted a buyout clause of around £ 68 million. That purchase will go live in the summer of 2022.
Now according to Deportes image, BVB officials are trying to persuade the Norway international to stay until 2023. And the Bundesliga club has a plan for exactly how to finance the move.
Dortmund are said to be willing to double his salary if he agrees to stay for another 12 months. Haaland is understood to earn around £ 140,000 today. But Dortmund are ready to offer him a great new 12-month contract.

According to the report, Haaland’s equipment contract with Nike expires at the end of the year. And Puma, Dortmund’s uniform maker, is said to be willing to help fund a deal for the forward to stay.
Of course, the Haaland clause would still be active, unless you agreed to revoke the existing agreement. Otherwise, the player would have to reject a transfer if the club complied with its release clause.
The stance that Raiola and Haaland have taken in the process is unclear. But, the couple are well aware that their earning potential outside of Dortmund is far greater than the £ 280,000 a week that BVB and Puma are willing to pay.
Chelsea reportedly canceled a transfer from Haaland over the summer when Raiola’s lawsuits were exposed.
The Italian agent wanted a salary of 50 million euros a year for his client, around 800,000 pounds sterling a week. Although he also wanted agent fees of 40 million euros, according to Christian Falk.
