Borussia Dortmund were knocked out of the Champions League this season. The defeat was considered to be an alarm for the Bundesliga.
Dortmund leave the 2021/2022 Champions League. The defeat of Sporting CP on the fifth matchday was the cause.
Playing at the Estadio Jose Alvalade, Lisbon, Thursday (25/11/2021), Dortmund was beaten 1-3. The result puts Marco Reus et al in third position in Group B with 6 points, behind Ajax (15) and Sporting (9).
The result made Dortmund’s pace of wind-up continued. The defeat to Sporting was the third defeat in the last five matches, with two other poor results obtained when they were beaten by Ajax 1-3 and silenced by RB Leipzig 1-2 in the German League.
Under the direction of Marco Rose, Dortmund still appear windy. Of the 20 matches he has led, seven defeats have been suffered by Die Borussen.

“It’s a terrible defeat,” said coach Marco Rose after the game.
“Our target is to be in three competitions next year. Now we are eliminated from the Champions League. That’s a big blow,” he said.
According to Forbes, Dortmund’s defeat itself could be a critical signal for the Bundesliga. The German League competition is being highlighted because of various problems.
Among them is the issue of vaccination, where several Bundesliga stars have refused the injection of an antidote to the corona virus. Then the issue of 50+1 share ownership is also being shaken up, which is being questioned a lot in the midst of the pandemic.
