Börse Express – New York stocks: US stock exchanges remain stable at a high level

NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – The US stock exchanges continued to be stable at a high level on Friday. The record high of the Dow Jones Industrial from the month of May at just under 35 092 points remains within reach.

Shortly after the start of trading on Friday, the Dow Jones rose 0.12 percent to 35,030.12 points. For the market-wide S&P 500
it rose slightly by 0.11 percent to 4364.77 points and the technology-heavy Nasdaq 100 rose by 0.21 percent to 14,825.03 points. These two indexes last climbed record highs this week.

Analysts see the general upward trend in the markets still intact. Because the fear of a tighter monetary policy in the USA in view of the recent sharp rise in inflation there has noticeably decreased. The US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell once again made sure of this, once again emphasizing on Wednesday that the sharp rise in consumer prices was only of a temporary nature from the perspective of the Fed./ck/mis
