After the most recent hunt for a record, the US stock exchanges weakened slightly on Monday in generally quiet trading. The Dow Jones Industrial fell by 0.26 percent to 34 113.83 points. The market-wide S&P 500 fell at the start of the week by 0.14 percent to 4179.65 points, after it had also achieved a new record on Friday.
