Börse Express – New York stocks: US stock exchanges follow the global slide in prices

NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – The US stock exchanges could not escape the global market weakness on Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial
fell 1.08 percent in early trading to 34,305.71 points. Experts identified concerns about the further global economic recovery as the current burden, which had already caused major losses in Europe and Asia.

The market-wide S&P 500 fell 1.28 percent to 4302.52 points and the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100
dropped 1.33 percent to 14,613.20 points.

Due to the particularly contagious Delta variant, investors around the world currently fear that the rising number of corona infections will pose a threat to the economic recovery.
