Börse Express – New York Stocks End: Dow ends dreary stock market week listlessly

NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – Shortly before the weekend, the US stock markets fell into lethargy. Even surprisingly good economic data could no longer lure investors out of the reserve on Friday. That went for the Dow Jones Industrial
an all in all rather dreary stock market week ended listlessly. The leading index closed with a plus of 0.04 percent at 34,479.60 points. On a weekly basis, the stock market barometer posted a minus of 0.8 percent.

The S&P 500, which represents the broad market gained 0.19 percent to 4,247.44 points after rising to another record high the day before. The technology-heavy selection index Nasdaq 100 ended up with a 0.27 percent plus at 13,998.30 points. Here the weekly balance looked better than the Dow./bek/he with a gain of 1.6 percent
