NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – After a weak previous week, the US stock markets recovered somewhat on Monday. At the same time, yields on the US bond market fell somewhat, giving equities room to stabilise. In the past week, the yield on ten-year US paper had climbed to almost four percent, its highest level since mid-November. That weighed on stock prices. On the bond market, investors are counting on further increases in key interest rates from the US Federal Reserve.
