NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – The price gains from the previous day after the interest rate hike in the USA are just a day later waste again there. A tighter monetary policy by the central banks of Hong Kong, England and, quite surprisingly, Switzerland as well, made investors aware of the risks of global inflation and the associated risk of a recession again on Thursday.
In this bad environment for stocks, the Dow Jones Industrial suffered 2.20 percent to 29,993 points in early trade and fell below the 30,000 mark to its lowest level since early 2021. The market-wide S&P 500
lost 2.64 percent to 3690 points. The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 dropped by 2.93 percent to 11,254 points./bek/he
