Börse Express – New York Equities Outlook: Standstill ahead of minutes of the latest Fed meeting

Before the minutes of the US Federal Reserve are published, investors are likely to hold back on Wednesday, as is so often the case. The leading index Dow Jones Industrial
the broker IG estimated an hour and a half before the stock market launch at 33,430 and thus unchanged. The stock market barometers on the Nasdaq technology exchange were also barely indexed prior to the market.

The minutes of the latest Fed meeting will be released an hour before close of trading and could therefore still cause movement in the late-stage equity trade. According to the analyst Stephen Innes from the broker Axi, investors should examine the statements of the central bankers primarily for indications of a monetary policy that will no longer be quite as loose in the future. Innes believes that a gradual surge in US yields is no big deal for high-risk assets like stocks. However, there are also those among the Fed governors who would rather reduce support measures sooner rather than later.

The shares of cruise operators were sought in pre-market trading. The US authority CDC has announced that cruises will be resumed in the summer, albeit initially with restrictions. Carnival, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean rose by up to 3.5 percent. The offer of US President Joe Biden to all adults for a vaccination from mid-April should give tourism a boost, said stockbrokers.

Stocks of Beyond Meat priced by 2.4 percent. The manufacturer of vegan meat substitute products announced the opening of a production facility near Shanghai in China./bek/jha/
