Borrowing Electric Vehicle Battery Technology Galaxy S24 Ultra Fast Charging Power Increased by Over 40%-ePrice.HK

Although many Chinese mobile phone brands currently provide fast charging power of more than 100W, Samsung, the leader in the smartphone market, has not followed suit. This Korean mobile phone manufacturer has not been able to provide 45W wired fast charging since the Galaxy Note10+ in 2019. No improvements have been made, but sources say that may change next year.

Stacked battery technology for electric vehicles

According to the news from @RGCloudS, Samsung plans to borrow the stacked battery technology of electric vehicles in the Galaxy S24 series released next year. One of the benefits of this transformation is to increase the charging power from the current maximum of 45W to the maximum of 65W next year. It was revealed that not all Galaxy S24 models across the line will switch to stacked batteries, only the Galaxy S24 Ultra is confirmed to be used, and the Galaxy S24+ is likely to be used. The specific situation depends on the production capacity of the supply chain. It is reported that Samsung is currently testing production at their plants in South Korea and China.

Galaxy S24 not upgraded

It is said that both the Galaxy S24+ and the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be equipped with a battery with a capacity of 5,000mAh, but Samsung will provide additional heat dissipation for the Galaxy S24 Ultra so that it can obtain higher charging power. Since the production capacity of stacked batteries is still limited, the Galaxy S24 will maintain a maximum of 25W fast charging for one more year. When the supply of this battery technology becomes more stable, Samsung will also consider applying it to the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 folding machines.
