According to the Ministry of Finance, this is the 4th consecutive loan worth 41,223.7 million Yen (after 3 loans for the project in 2007, 2012 and 2016) committed by the Japanese Government to finance the project. to continue to supplement capital, contributing to the completion of this important project. At the same time, realizing the goal of sustainable socio-economic development of Vietnam.
Metro Line No. 1 Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien is expected to operate in July 2024
Urban railway line No. 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien line is one of eight Metro lines approved by the Prime Minister to form a mass public transport system for the largest urban area in the world. water. The project has a package of 4 main packages using ODA loans from the Japanese Government, including 3 construction packages and 1 mechanical and electrical package.
Metro Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien project has a total investment of more than 43,700 billion VND, nearly 20 km long from Ben Thanh, District 1 to Long Binh Depot, Thu Duc City. This is the first urban railway project in Ho Chi Minh City, started in 2012. The project has currently conducted test runs and completed the final items with the goal of operating in July 2024.
After this line, the Metro No. 2 project, Ben Thanh – Tham Luong section, is being cleared by Ho Chi Minh City and relocated technical infrastructure to start main bidding packages in 2025 and complete in 2030.
