Several European Union member states are expected to recognize the Palestinian state by the end of May, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell announced on the sidelines of a two-day special meeting of the World Economic Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
40 day truce proposal
Proposal for a cease-fire in its lane Gaza submitted to Hamas, which envisages a 40-day ceasefire in conjunction with the release of hostages and prisoners, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron announced today.
“A very generous offer of a 40-day ceasefire, the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of these hostages” was made to the Palestinian Islamist movement, Cameron told a World Economic Forum meeting in Riyadh.
