Oil service

Tor Olav Trøims Borr Drilling has announced that the three contracts in Malaysia for three jack-up rigs have begun.

Two of the contracts have been entered into with PTTEP for the rigs “Gunnlod” and “Saga”, the third is with Roc Oil and applies to the rig “Mist”.

The start of the contracts was in September, in line with what was planned.

Immediate start in the North Sea

Borr further states that two other jack-up rigs, “Prospector 1” and “Prospector 5”, will start work in the North Sea now in the fourth quarter.

“Prospector 1” is according to Borr their first rig equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction system. This will reduce emissions of NOx and CO2 by up to 95 per cent and particulate emissions by more than 85 per cent.

Borr chief Patrick Schorn says in the report that it is a “unique achievement” to achieve operational start-up for the five rigs given the prevailing challenging conditions.
