A day before the EU-Western Balkans summit, which is expected to address the issue of problems between Bulgaria and Northern Macedonia, GERB leader Boyko Borissov called on President Rumen Radev to support our western neighbor in the EU enlargement process. According to the former prime minister, the head of state will lie to European leaders when the case will be closed. According to him, Radev has lied before, saying that after the elections the problems will be solved.

“Maybe he can find courage. Maybe the fist is once a fist, not a soft wrist. Or he can take responsibility once and not hide under the skirt of political parties,” Borissov said, after which he accused Radev of acting slowly and called on him to make a concrete decision on whether Bulgaria should support northern Macedonia for its accession to the EU.

“Radev’s fist, which fell on Bulgarian democracy, also fell on our international relations. Many months have passed, great tensions have risen in Northern Macedonia. No country is on our side in the dispute because it has missed these few months to explain exactly what the problem is, “Borissov said.

Tomorrow, Radev was invited by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to a joint meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.
