“With this behavior today, they sent us into the hands of Radev. Why did they have to break the government today? Now it depends on the president when the elections will be, when the consultations will be, how long he will hold us. If he wasn’t a gentleman, he could have scheduled us for consultations tomorrow.” Thus, the leader of GERB, Boyko Borisov, burst out at the PP-DB from the European People’s Party congress in Bucharest.
Enraged that the resignation of the “Denkov” cabinet was voted in his absence and that of the deputy prime minister and future prime minister Maria Gabriel, Borisov actually developed the hypothesis described by “24 Chasa” a day earlier – that their partners are provoking a faster drive of the procedure by the President. Thus, Gabrielle will be under pressure to negotiate and select a team for the next 9 months.
There is no hope, Borisov was sharp, and when asked if there is any hope for the rotation to happen. “If there are no radical reforms in the cabinet, the regulators and the judicial system, we will not participate. Without cardinal changes, including to Asen Vasilev, I will no longer support him (the cabinet)”, he stated his condition.
Borisov also developed the second hypothesis about the rush: “These people are currently playing only one game – let’s get GERB guilty that we are going to elections. They saw the sociology and that if the two elections are divided, they will only crash in European elections.” He also confirmed the unofficial information that after they were in a hurry to push Denkov’s resignation despite the announced commitment of the partners, they hesitated and wondered whether to postpone. “Until last night, they had withdrawn the proposal to vote on the resignation, in the morning they submitted it again, and I don’t see why they treated everyone in the National Assembly in this arrogant way. Denkov came, resigned and left with the cabinet so that they would not participate in the debates,” said Borisov. “This is how you defend a government, this is how you respond to criticism. Why were they in a hurry to do it, why this arrogant attitude,” he asked. And he was categorical that this is how they provoke elections and Gabriel should have been in the plenary hall.
