/ world today news/ Prime Minister Boyko Borisov‘s attempts to find parliamentary support for the prepared changes to the Constitution continue. In the draft program of the National Assembly, it is foreseen that the bill will be voted on in the first reading on Friday. Before the beginning of the plenary session, the prime minister will talk with the chairman of the BSP, Mihail Mikov.
In search of support for the constitutional changes, Borisov has already met with the leaders of AVB Georgi Parvanov and DPS Lyutvi Mestan. Both parties demanded the withdrawal of the bill and called for only consensus texts to be voted on. There is agreement on the extension of the inspectorate’s powers to the High Judicial Council, its division into judicial and prosecutorial colleges and the direct election of judges and prosecutors.
After the meetings, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov signaled that he was ready to compromise in order for the consensus texts to be adopted. However, the Reform Bloc is currently against any concessions from what is included in the bill.
