“The former prime minister has made it clear that he knows who took the pictures. If he knows or assumes who Mata Hari is, he must at least give all the information so that this person can be questioned. Because for all of us as Bulgarians it is important to know whether these bars or bundles were there or not. And if they were there, where did they come from? This was stated to journalists by Prime Minister Kiril Petkov.
“I am not an investigative body, I direct where there is the most public data, I have already said many of the people on the list and publicly,” he said on the sidelines of parliament on the blacklist he handed over to the prosecutor’s office.
Petkov was questioned by the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor’s Office as the State Prosecution requested more details about the people he mentioned during his meeting with Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev last week. At this meeting, the Prime Minister pointed out the names and nicknames of people who, in his opinion, are the basis of economic and criminal crime in the country, but no action has been taken against them to seek criminal responsibility. Lena Borislavova, head of the prime minister’s political office, was also questioned. Today it became clear that the prosecutor’s office has sent to the Ministry of Interior the media publications provided by Petkov, related to 19 people whom it claims have probably committed criminal and economic crimes.
“Recently, the prosecutor’s office is acting in a very interesting and strange way. You saw in our case – they want us to give them additional information. But we are ready to support any of their investigations. We just hope they are not their PR moves,” Petkov said. : “And today in the parliament I was asked why the list is with 19 people, and before that in Brussels I spoke about 20 and I said that I gave information about 19. There is information about the 20th. All information was passed to Ivan Geshev . “
Regarding the “golden passports”, the prime minister said the ruling coalition was in favor of exposing them completely. “I have also promised it to the European Commission. It is inadmissible for these schemes for people to obtain passports through corruption to continue in Bulgaria,” Petkov said.
