Mitko Nikolov will not become an MP. It remains for Burgas to do, but if you want the government to be successful, we must have a government nominated by us.
This was stated by the leader of GERB, Boyko Borisov, who visited our city today.
He was accompanied by Tomislav Donchev, Kostadin Angelov, Kiril Valchev and Rosen Zhelyazkov. All of them presented the election program of the GERB-SDS Coalition. Mayor Dimitar Nikolov, who is the leader of the GERB list in the 2nd MIR-Burgas, was also present.
“We put in the best! Not that Mitko Nikolov will become an MP. He will remain mayor! We honestly state it and we have not lied to anyone. He keeps our lists because when he goes around he can say: “Colleagues, if you want a Children’s Hospital, we need deputies. We are on the fourth floor, and there are no more payments.” To campaign in Burgas even seems to me an insult to the people! They remember when we did Thrace. They remember when we built the bridges to Sozopol. The Copper Mine detour. Mitko Nikolov and I have planned these projects one by one – the hall, universities, the Sea Garden, the promenades and much more. Why campaign then? What we promised, we did. We renovated 240 blocks in Burgas! No one has made such a social policy for the Bulgarians! Let the state come and make you an energy-efficient block, more expensive, more beautiful and for no money! That’s why we have a long-term program and can renovate 1000 blocks a year! Our cities will look completely different!” Borisov also said,
He guarantees that the project for the reconstruction of the public access area of the port in Burgas, as well as the construction of the children’s hospital, will be completed.
According to him, money for the “Black Sea” highway between Varna and Burgas can be provided through a loan from the World Bank or with a concession.
“I ask Dimitar Nikolov about the Children’s Hospital, and he answers me: “Up to the fourth floor, they don’t pay anymore!”. That is why I put the mayors as the leaders of lists. To explain to people that this is how he will sit – up to the 4th floor. The money is gone and the Bulgarian people will pay for it these last 4 years. Now there is no discipline, will and order, as there was with us. That’s why there is no campaign now. We go around like a troupe and explain what we are going to do, and the others who will arrest whom” the GERB leader also said.
According to him, all parties in the parliament should be responsible with the budget for a hole of 18 billion. GERB is categorically against increasing taxes.
“Now we are looking around for equidistant people who can be ministers. I look, I look, but I don’t see a better minister of transport than Rosen Zhelyazkov! I’m looking, I’m looking, but there is no one more suitable than Tomislav Donchev as Minister of European Funds! I look at them and they seem the most suitable to me! Now was the time to find out who this equidistant prime minister would be. He should have been with us at meetings with voters, taking notes and saying: “Colleagues, if you support me these, these and these commitments from your program, I will do.” In the evening to go with Denkov and Petkov to write down their requests. And after October 28, if there is a new assembly, let it be known what we are doing!” Borisov said.
The Mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, for his part, recalled that when the project for the public access area of the Port of Burgas was discussed 8 years ago in the office of Prime Minister Borisov, no one said that there was a hole in the budget of 18 billion, no one and lamented that this was impossible.
“The companies then worked, and Burgas received a wonderful infrastructure at an international level. I say this because I can make an analogy with the state we are in right now. Now you have no one to go to. There is no one to defend a project to. Who to ask for funding. No one can provide you with long-termism. Mr. Borisov used to tell us: “Guys, don’t rush to dig!”. However, the mayors dug up the streets and now we are under stress. That’s why I’m the leader of the list. Because I’m fed up! I’m sick of going from one office to another and there’s no light in the tunnel!” Nikolov said.
He was categorical that the most important for him are the 28 projects for the Burgas region, which are now pending financing. Nikolov will also insist on transport links, because there are no more borders between municipalities.
“Therefore, what is needed is not mobilization, but over-mobilization. There is nowhere else for us to retreat. The only political formation that is able to take the responsibility and the risk, to restore the economy, to provide financing, to provide lobbying in the European institutions, is the GERB political party. Therefore, on October 27, powerfully, without hesitation, we must secure votes” the mayor also said.
