Especially on Sunday, she did not do well at all. In the 1st round, she took the sixth place with a loss of 1.54 seconds to the first Mikaela Shiffrin, in the second she went as far as the 27th best time and dropped another seven places.

“Both runs were with big mistakes. You have to put these two days behind you and move on. Nothing is going on. He still knows how to ski, he will rest a bit at home and we will continue to do it.” her brother Boris Vlha said.

And why did she make so many mistakes over the weekend? “I don’t know, we have to analyze it.”

Could this slalom be labeled as one of her worst in recent years? “If we take the last three to four years, then… Things don’t always turn out as expected. I don’t even know where we ended up,” said Boris Vlha at the finish line.

Slalom did not suit her because it was one of the lighter ones. “He prefers harder hills, more demanding slaloms. This was built straight, but we’re not talking about it. When she was in form last year, they could build anything. It’s hard for me to express myself.”

The fans and their nervousness also played their part. Špindlerův Mlyn was taken over by Slovaks over the weekend. “I had the feeling from the 2nd round on Saturday that she really wanted to and simply overdid it. She made a lot of mistakes and gave a bad round. And a bad feeling doesn’t work very well when it’s in that mood or setting right now. But it won’t add to the psyche, and that’s a lot of factors.”

The next time Petra Vlhová will appear on a competitive slope is at the World Championships. What is their schedule until then? “Today we are going home, where we will be for 2 days. We are already traveling to Switzerland for training on Wednesday, so we won’t be staying at home for very long. But we will make full use of it for relaxation. We will let everything out of our heads a little and gather new strength for the end of the season.”

And what disciplines will he participate in at the World Championships, which start on February 6? “I don’t know the combination, the super-G yet, and then the twist and the slalom. We haven’t trained for parallel races all season, so we won’t go for it,” added Boris Vlha at the end.
