It was his wife, Frances Lefebure, who mentioned that Van Severen had already had a clash with the authorities. Although it was all not so bad, says Boris. “I was about 18 years old. After a barbecue at my house, a friend and I decided to go for a walk in Ghent”, he tells ‘Het Nieuwsblad’. When they came across an abandoned school building, they decided to take a look inside. Still with a beer in hand, they climbed the fence and explored the deserted school corridors and large auditoriums. “Then we suddenly saw flashing lights approaching us. We wanted to hide, but because of the adrenaline, going behind a door was the best solution we could come up with.”

Not much later, some officers with guns arrested the duo. “First we quickly put that beer away, then we were both questioned separately,” said Boris. It turned out that the school was the set of the police series ‘Code 37’. The police thought that the two wanted to steal the expensive film material. “But during our interrogation it was clear that we really didn’t know what to do. A great criminal has not been lost to me.” He got away with a night in custody.
