Johnson promised Zelensky the status of an honorary citizen of London
As part of Johnson’s visit, British politician and President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with students of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. During the conversation, Vladimir Zelensky jokingly asked how it happened that Boris Johnson is an honorary citizen of Kyiv, but he is not. In response, Boris Johnson promised to arrange for the Ukrainian president the status of an honorary citizen of London as soon as he arrives in the UK.
The President also drew attention to the fact that Boris Johnson has his own Boris Express train in Ukrzaliznytsia. The British ex-premier was not at a loss and also promised Zelensky free travel on British public transport. This part of the conversation took place between the politicians in a joking manner.
