Boris Johnson was preparing to give the first major interview to the BBC today (3/10) after leaving the prime minister’s chair. He would talk about everything: Brexit, his government’s handling of the pandemic and the Partygate scandal.

Other journalists offered to do the interview in Kuenssberg’s place, including former Sky political editor Adam Boulton, Tony Blair’s former communications director Alastair Campbell, and Channel 4 News presenters Cathy Newman and Krishnan Guru-Murthy.
