The British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, promised his country “a new morning” with Brexit. But his reign is overshadowed by the failure in the corona crisis.

Hardly any of the 55 prime ministers that Great Britain has had since the creation of the office in 1721 saw his star burn out as quickly as Boris Johnson: When he led his conservatives to a triumphant election a year ago, he seemed to be able to “walk on water” how enthusiastic party friends. Not only did Johnson win an 80-seat majority for the Tories, he did it by destroying the Labor Party’s “Red Wall”.
