Party scandal after party scandal has thrown British Prime Minister Boris Johnson into a struggle for his political life.
While Johnson ordered the British to stay at home and refrain from social contact, the Prime Minister’s residence in Downing Street has been a meeting place, not to mention the crime scene, for several parties during shutdowns.
New party revelation
The Corona parties are being investigated by the police, and have also been the subject of an investigation by the government. The report from this investigation is expected to come towards the end of this week, and could create even bigger problems for Johnson.
As if that were not enough:
Wednesday was the prime minister accused of lying about the evacuation of 200 dogs from the Afghan capital Kabul last summer.

Investigating the evacuation
A committee in the House of Commons, the British Parliament, is now investigating the way Britain handled the evacuation from Kabul. In connection with this investigation, the committee published several documents on Wednesday.
One of these documents was an email from the British Foreign Office. The email apparently confirms that Johnson lied about the evacuation last year.
More specifically, Johnson is said to have lied about whether he himself intervened and made sure to evacuate 200 dogs from Kabul when the British charity animal organization Nowzad was evacuated, writes Sky News.
The organization’s employees were also evacuated.
In December last year, Johnson took a hard line against these accusations, describing them as “complete nonsense”. ifølge Washington Post.
In the published e-mail, however, the British Foreign Office writes that the evacuation of the animal organization was personally approved by Johnson.

Lots of attention
The evacuation of the animal organization also became a topic last year for several reasons:
Partly because the organization Nowzad received a lot of publicity after the leader of the organization, Afghanistan veteran Paul Farthing, launched a major social media campaign.
Reunited after five months
Partly because the British press wondered if Boris Johnson’s wife Carrie Johnson had a hand in the game.
The fact that the organization had received a lot of attention was also mentioned in the e-mail from the British Foreign Office.
Paul Farthing’s organization also received attention in Norway. He is married to Norwegian Kaisa Markhus, who was evacuated from Kabul by Norwegian authorities.

Refuses – again
Even now, after the e-mail from the State Department has been published, Johnson denies having had a hand in the game.
“It is still the case that the prime minister did not instruct officials to make specific choices,” said a statement from Johnson’s spokesman.
Johnson’s political opposition has not calmed down with that statement.
In trouble after leaked photo
– This depends on the Prime Minister’s moral authority and whether he is telling the truth. His authority, integrity and honor are at stake. He should come to the House of Commons and defend it, says Chris Bryant, Labor politician and member of the House of Commons committee investigating the evacuation, to Sky News.
Labor’s defense spokesman John Healey is also not gracious:
“Once again, the prime minister has been lied to about what he has done and decided,” Healey said.
