The former British Prime Minister called reports on this topic “complete nonsense” and “Russian propaganda.”
The head of the British government, Boris Johnson, called the information about his involvement in the breakdown of peace negotiations between Kiev and Moscow in the spring of 2022 untrue.
The former prime minister spoke about this in a conversation with reporters The Times.
He called messages about it “complete nonsense” and “Kremlin propaganda.”
At the same time, Johnson said that after the Istanbul negotiations he had a conversation with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, during which he voiced his concerns about the possibility of signing any agreement with the Russian Federation.
Earlier, the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, said that the Kremlin demonstrated its readiness at negotiations in the spring of 2022 stop war in exchange for Ukraine’s refusal to join NATO. According to the parliamentarian, Kyiv did not agree to this because, firstly, the desire for membership in the North Atlantic Alliance is enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine, and secondly, there was and is no trust in Russia. Such an agreement could be concluded only if there were some security guarantees, the deputy added.
Let us recall that the President of Ukraine reported that there was no pressure from Western partners regarding freezing the war and called on Europe to maintain unity, as this is the key to victory over Russia. Zelensky is confident that Putin will retreat sooner or later if he continues to beat the Russian Federation.
