The “Boring Coffee” opened by artist Wu Shanru in the East District of Beishi City was attacked by two men in black armed with baseball bats on the 27th. The suspects escaped after smashing tables and chairs. After the suspect was arrested, he claimed that he was dissatisfied with Wu Zongxian’s hosting style. According to news on the 28th, the suspect later changed his story and said that he saw that Wu Zongxian and the curator had a legal dispute, so he wanted to vent his anger on the curator’s behalf. After learning about this, the curator hurriedly broadcast a live broadcast to clarify, saying, “I’m willing to do this,” and emphasized that he would never encourage fans to commit violent acts.

“Boring Coffee” was suddenly broken into by two men at around 3 pm on the 27th. Afterwards, the police used nearby surveillance cameras to identify the suspects. Finally, they arrested a 22-year-old man named Peng and a 32-year-old man named Huang at their residences in Neihu and Xizhi respectively. An arrest was made and the motive for the crime was clarified. It is understood that the suspect initially said that he smashed the store because of a consumer dispute, but the two people had never been to the store to make purchases. Later, the suspect changed his story and confessed that he was dissatisfied with Wu Zongxian’s hosting style and denied that there was anyone behind it or financial disputes. Unexpectedly, he later changed his claim. Because Wu Zongxian had a lawsuit with the curator, he wanted to vent his anger on the curator’s behalf. In response to this, the curator started a live broadcast on the 29th and repeatedly complained about injustice, saying, “It’s my fault.”

The legal battle between the curator and Wu Zongxian dates back to 2019. The curator was sued for insulting Wu Zongxian during a live broadcast. He was sentenced to 58 days of detention by the Taipei District Court, suspended for 2 years, and had to pay a fine of NT$100,000. Regarding the suspect’s threat to help him vent his anger, the curator clarified that he had nothing to do with the matter, “I believe that museum fans are not so free.” He also questioned the motives behind the suspect, claiming that he had never encouraged anyone to do such a thing, and even more He said sarcastically, “If you want to smash up a store, you have to pretend to be a fan of the store to be convincing.”

The curator also condemned the violence and publicly shouted to the other party, “Whose shop are you going to smash and what are you going to do? As a man, please be more candid. Don’t say it’s for the curator. I don’t want everyone to do it for me.” Do anything”. Regarding the suspect’s concealment of the motive for the crime, he believed that the behavior was too old-fashioned and even a bit fake. He hoped that the police could conduct a thorough investigation to clarify the truth.
