Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas/ Lupita Domínguez G.-
Producers in the Tamaulipas border area will seek the support of state and federal authorities to contract agricultural insurance.
The former cenecista leader in the northern region of the entity, Rubén Rodríguez López, mentioned that they will take advantage of this start of planting in the area to present the application.
And it is that he explained that what is sought is to give greater confidence to farmers who depend on this activity to generate economic income for the benefit of their families.
“By protecting the crops, it will give you greater confidence to face any adversity, which is why an annual subsidy from the three orders of Government is necessary,” he considered.
He mentioned that, as every year, the winter season represents a threat to crops, because it is during this season that low temperatures are recorded that can bring frost to that area of the State.

For this reason, he insisted on the need to contract agricultural insurance with which the damages generated by any accident can be covered.
“Especially when icy waves occur that have affected more than 500,000 hectares, in other times, but that also wreak havoc in the livestock sector, he said.
Rodríguez López reiterated the need for both governments to apply catastrophic insurance, stressing that this should not only be for the sowing of basic grains, but also for the horticultural and livestock sector.
It is worth mentioning that last Friday the planting of corn crops officially began in the northern region of Tamaulipas.
