Burgundy is at the top of the most desirable colors of the season. To succumb to it, here is a selection of 15 pieces identified by the editorial staff.
The fashion trends of recent seasons have highlighted a wardrobe with sober cuts and colors. But if beige, black, gray and white make up a majority of current collections, other shades are experiencing a resurgence in popularity this season. Like olive green or chocolate (which some even call the new black), burgundy has established itself among the key shades of fall-winter. On the catwalks of the fall-winter 2024-2025 fashion shows, first, seen on leather coats at Ann Demeulemeester, Khaite and Ermanno Scervino, thigh-high boots at Chloé, quilted bags at COS, suit jackets at Gucci and Etro , suits at Fendi and Nina Ricci, evening dresses at Ferragamo or Elisabetta Franchi… A dark red wave that is inevitably sweeping through ready-to-wear and major brands, which are full of burgundy-colored pieces in their current collections.

How to wear burgundy this fall-winter?
To adopt the star color of the season, nothing very complicated since it is a shade that goes well with a large number of colors: black, brown, orange, red, all shades of blue, beige and gray, certain shades of green and yellow… A color that is both elegant, deep and guaranteed zero risk! The most daring can then play it with a total monochrome look, playing on the contrast of materials (leather, veil, lace, etc.) and layering. But the most effective way is still to adopt it in touches, via a wool sweater, a satin skirt, pants or a leather jacket for example. It is also the ideal color to adopt on our accessories to boost all our winter looks. We therefore like it on a trendy bag, a pair of croc-embossed leather boots, moccasins or a pair of slingback pumps, but also on a pair of long leather gloves or a baseball cap.
