Boralex Confirms Fire at Cruis Photovoltaic Park Site Caused by Act of Sabotage

According to the Boralex company, “an act of sabotage” was the cause of the fire at the Cruis photovoltaic park site.

An act of sabotage. No more no less. While the Cruis photovoltaic park site was the target of an arson attack on Friday evening, the project leader deplores “this regrettable situation which impacts the desired objective, since the photovoltaic modules set on fire were intended to produce electricity green for 40 years, before being recycled.

Requested by BFM DICI, the Boralex group “strongly condemns these acts of sabotage which go against the values of responsibility, sustainability and innovation that Boralex strives to promote”. And to recall that this project “is legal since it has obtained all the authorizations necessary for its deployment”. Behind the malicious acts against the Cruis project, it is “the development of all solar energy in the PACA region which is under attack” regrets Boralex.
