The Norwegian rider in white who hit the asphalt during the sprint in the Scheldeprijs is doing well. Michael Skelde, sports director of Riwal-Readynez Cycling Team, says this. “He is doing well”, the Norwegian cycling website procycling.no says.
The rider in question was August Jensen. “It was a high speed fall and it looked ugly. But all in all he is fine. He has no serious injuries. He will need several days to recover.”
The Australian Caleb Ewan (Lotto-Soudal) won the sprint by force majeure before Pascal Ackermann (Bora-Hansgrohe), who was declassified.
The other man from Bora-Hansgrohe, Rüdiger Selig, saw Jensen and put his bicycle aside to help the Norwegian. Our compliment of the day goes to the German.
