Boost children’s immune systems

On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, experts from the Wrzburger Universitts-Kinderklinik will provide online lectures about the special features of the child’s immune system and how parents can strengthen it. The free event is a joint project between the Wrzburg University Hospital and the Main-Post media group, according to a press release from the hospital.

When it gets cold and wet outside, the risk of flu infections increases. Children in particular can easily catch colds. “Many parents would like to make a contribution to strengthening the immune system of their offspring,” says Prof. Dr. Christoph Hrtel. The director of the Children’s Clinic and Polyclinic of the Wrzburg University Hospital describes the starting points for this at the online event. According to the press release, he will be supported by two other specialists from his clinic: Prof. Dr. Dorothee Viemann and private lecturer Dr. Henner Morbach. That evening, the trio will answer many other important questions about children’s immune defenses. Do infections affect the child’s development? What does it mean when a child often has a fever? And in general: How many infections are still “normal” in childhood?

The free event starts at 6:00 pm and uses the “Zoom” platform. An internet connection and a smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC are required to participate. It is only important to register with the Main-Post at Tel .: (0931) 6001 6001 or at http://akademie.mainpost.de.
