When Microsoft introduced the Xbox Series X, they opted for a stripped-down exterior with glossy black surfaces and a long, narrow format. The relatively minimalistic design quickly brought to mind white goods and it didn’t take long before the internet’s collected jokes pointed out that it actually looked like a refrigerator.

The joke got a chilly response, to say the least, from Microsoft, who took the opportunity and completely sonic launched a mini fridge with the same design. Now they are said to be sailing towards the kitchen again, but this time to significantly warmer latitudes. In a post that circulating on Twitter presented nothing less than an Xbox Series S toaster.
The authenticity of the picture is extremely doubtful. Among other things, the image states that the device can toast two slices of bread at the same time, but in the image there only appears to be a single bread compartment. With a width of 38.3 centimeters, however, it is conceivable that the bread slices should be placed next to each other in the same compartment, especially since the optimal bread slice size is specified as 120 × 120 millimeters.
There are no recommendations for larger slices of bread, but SweClocker’s editors recommend solutions such as toasting fewer pieces at a time or taking out the famous bread knife. However, the latter should be kept out of the toaster. Other features include non-slip feet, different degrees of rust and a removable crumb tray, to avoid turning the appliance over when cleaning.
Whether or not the Xbox toaster actually exists is not entirely clear. With just under a month to go until the first of April, it may well be a far-fetched joke. On the other hand, it wouldn’t be Xbox’s first kitchen accessory. It is said to be available for pre-order for 60 euros, but so far shines with its absence in Xbox official channels.
