Booking.com Reveals Winners of 2024 Traveler Review Awards: See Which Places Ranked as Most Hospitable

If you’re planning a vacation and want to rely on other people’s experiences, you can’t avoid booking sites like Booking.com or Expedia.

Booking.com recently announced the winners of its Traveler Review Awards. “Based on more than 309 million verified guest reviews and in recognition of consistently excellent service and hospitality, 1.48 million Booking.com travel partners will receive a 2024 Traveler Review Award,” Booking.com wrote in a statement. This would include 1,484,294 accommodations, 449 rental car companies and 129 taxi providers.

According to the booking platform, the top ten most hospitable places in the world is again based on the proportion of accommodation providers that have received a Traveler Review Award 2024.

Seaside resort is ahead

Although 2023 was a record year for tourism in Zurich – after all, more people stayed here last year than ever before (see box) – the Limmat city does not appear in the top ten. But another Swiss place, namely Grindelwald in the Bernese Oberland.

The most hospitable cities in the world in 2024 are (drumroll):

  • Arraial d’Ajuda, Brasilien
  • Ermoupoli, Greece
  • Viana do Castelo, Portugal
  • Daylesford, Australia
  • Grindelwald, Switzerland
  • Moab, United States
  • Uzes, France
  • Mazatlan, Mexico
  • Jaisalmer, If
  • Fujikawaguchiko, Japan
  • As a small consolation: Zurich was given a (dubious) honor last year. The English-language weekly newspaper “The Economist” placed Zurich in first place along with Singapore in its ranking of the most expensive cities in the world. Behind them are Geneva, New York and Hong Kong.
