Last year, derived from the issue of the health contingency, there was a fall from 60 to 70 in the sale of physical books, informed the vice president of Culture of the National Chamber of Commerce (Canaco) in Durango, Jorge Ochoa Arámbula.

According to what has been expressed by the businessman in the field, at this moment there is already a slight recovery in the matter of book marketing, however, the habit of reading in Durango is little, as well as the pleasure of buying a book.

And even though there are few bookstores in the capital of Durango, there is some sale and at this time we cannot speak of a recovery, since it affected and was a total loss due to the health contingency.

Now what we are looking for is to seek a greater dissemination of the bookstores to have a greater number of customers and it will be heard badly, but the departure of the Sanborns bookstore benefited us, said Ochoa Arámbula.

At the national level, Durango is in the last places of book consumption, in established bookstores and in libraries created, so it is a weak reading habit and it is a strong job that the authorities must have to create more spaces where books are more available to train more readers.

On the subject of the digital book, it also came to a different sector, there are certain generations that have opted for this, however, our job is to create our readers, which should be promoted in children, concluded Ochoa Arámbula.
