Book launch and panel discussion: Torn States of America | Current news from Goethe University Frankfurt

Arthur Landwehr, former radio journalist for ARD in Washington DC, describes in his book “The Torn States of America” ​​(Munich 2024) the deep cultural divisions that run through American society in – now. They can be seen, among other things, in the debates about the Black Lives Matter movement, gun legislation and the right to abortion. In conversation with Frankfurt political scientist Gunther Hellmann, Landwehr explores the socio-political reasons for the fight over American values ​​and identity, and shows how this fight affects the upcoming US elections.
