Book: ‘From Arsenio to Arsenio’, 22 years in the history of Dépor and its “symbol” | Radio Coruña

The book ‘From Arsenio to Arsenio’ reviews with stories, photographs and anecdotes 22 years, between the decades of the 50s and 70s, of the history of Deportivo and the career of the former coach and former player of the Arsenio Iglesias team, whom the current President Blue and White has considered a “symbol”.

The work, written by Xan Fraga and edited by Phottic, has been presented this Friday at the ONCE headquarters in A Coruña on the 60th anniversary of the last goal as Arsenio’s blue and white, who also directed Real Madrid a season in the mid-nineties.

“Here is information through a tube”, commented the former coach, who received the praise of the author of the book: “Arsenio symbolizes the football of A Coruña, of the quarry, with work, humility and honesty, values that represent him.”

He was also praised by the president of Deportivo, Tino Fernández, who confessed his “passion for Arsenio” and was pleased to participate in these types of events that promote “sportsmanship.”

“Arsenio for me symbolizes Deportivo, we are lucky to share time with Arsenio and enjoy a figure that very few teams have. We have it and possibly it will take time to have another one who comes after whom we can talk about everything we talk about Arsenio “, commented the leader.

He added that he is the “most important person alive in Deportivo” and every act with him as the protagonist “is little for what he deserves.”

Fernández explained that the club, due to its commitments to the Treasury, had to postpone the creation of the Coruña team’s museum, which was going to be the “icing on the cake” to the current mandate and that he hopes to be able to resume so that the blue and white entity has a “museum of ‘Champions League’ “.
