This Friday, November 24 and within the “Book Dialogues” cycle, Evangelina Rodríguez, Professor ofand Spanish Literature from the University of Valenciapresents his book to us The words and things in the comedy corral, in which, as an essay, the foundational value of the word as writing and as staging is vindicated through a reflection on the identity and dramaturgy of classical Spanish theater. Without abandoning a historical and documentary perspective, a journey is proposed around the founding space of the theater of the Spanish Golden Age – the corral de comedias – and its importance as the embryo of a conception of staging and of a first cultural industry in a context of obvious affinity with the European theater of the time.
