Bonn still needs a win
The Bonn Capitals win game three of the final series for the German baseball championship against the Untouchables Paderborn 1-0. The Rhinelanders are now just one win away from winning the third title in the club’s history.
The encounter in Paderborn’s Ahorn Ballpark developed into a pitcher duel between Bonn’s Markus Solbach and Paderborn’s Mark Harrison. Solbach came out on top. He pitched a complete-game shutout and only allowed four hits and two walks from the U’s. The duel between Solbach and batter ended in a strikeout ten times. For the Bonn pitcher, it was already the sixth win of this year’s playoffs, with not a single loss.
Paderborn’s Mark Harrison, on the other hand, suffered the bitter loss. The righty also showed a strong performance. In 7 1/3 innings on the mound, he only allowed six hits and three balls, with a whopping eight strikeouts. Daniel Sanchez Reyes managed the game-winning RBI double in the sixth inning.
Tomorrow, Sunday, game four of the series will continue at the same venue at 2:00 p.m.
