The 3rd edition of “The Bonmont Sale”, the auction organized by Maison Bonhams in Cheserex, Switzerland, ended with a total transaction value of CHF 10,302,850 (€ 11,981,600).
The Swiss sale brought together some fifty prestigious and collector’s vehicles, and forty cars found buyers there (90% of the lots presented) including a copy of the McLaren P1 which was the star of the event.
The Woking Hypercar offered for sale at Chesserex, the 180th assembled P1 chassis assembled by McLaren (out of 375), was sold for CHF 1,207,500 (€ 1,102,337), enough to overtake another super- sporty: a 2020 Ford GT sold for 966,000 CHF (881,869 €), and a 1939 Bugatti Type 57 C Aravis Cabriolet bodied by Gangloff in the 2/3-seater Aravis cabriolet style, which won over a collector for 805,000 CHF (734,891 €).
Several models signed Aston Martin have also distinguished themselves on the heights of Lake Geneva, including a DB5 Sports Saloon from 1964 produced in the legendary “Silver Birch” shade (dear to agent 007), as well as a DB6 Vantage from 1966. also remarkably preserved. These two vehicles found buyers respectively for 540,500 CHF (493,427 €) and 304,750 CHF (278,208 €).
The AMG models, obviously very popular in Switzerland, also aroused the enthusiasm of the collectors present with a spectacular Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 Pick-up from 2014 powered by a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 unit (sold for CHF 667,000 – € 608,909 ), and a 2007 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren “722 edition” in black coated, which sold for twice the initial estimate (460,000 CHF – 419,937 €).
Finally, it should be noted that the 2009 Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series which belonged to tennis player Roger Federer (it was delivered to him new in 2009, the year of his first Grand Slam), achieved an excellent sale with a final price set at 195,500 CHF (178,473 €).
The next sale organized by the Bonhams Motoring team will be held on July 9 as part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
