Giovanni Allevi has returned to update fans on his illness, a multiple myeloma that he was diagnosed with last June. In recent months, the 53-year-old composer has recounted his illness without filters, between hope and pain, and in his last social outburst he let all his despondency shine through: ““Myeloma has left me with bone fractures in different parts of my body. I wonder what it’s like to fight.”

Giovanni Allevi: “I’m not well” In all these months, the composer has kept his followers constantly informed, who have been with him since the beginning of the battle e with their words of affection they gave him the strength to carry on. After months of therapy, Allevi admitted via social media that he was tired and very tried: “How am I? Many of you ask me. Not well, it is perhaps the most difficult period of my life. But the therapies are doing their job. Thank you to all for the demonstrations of affection””

“I wonder what it’s like to fight” The pain seems to have taken over and the musician does not deny having moments of great discomfort: “Myeloma has left me with bone fractures in various parts of the body – continues Allevi with his usual frankness –, in particular the vertebrae, some of which they are inoperable and perhaps will remain sore forever. So I wonder what it means to fight”.

New music coming Although the disease has deprived him of the ability to play, Allevi continues to be inspired by his muse: “My hands are now shaking from the drugs, but a new music invades my mind in an impetuous way and I don’t miss a note. Now it’s sweet, now crazy and incomprehensible, dreamy and reflective, metaphysical. I can’t wait for you to hear it”. His career, therefore, does not stop and on the occasion of Valentine’s Day “Love Collection – Special Edition” was released, an album that contains his most famous love songs.

The art of healing The artist withdrew from the stage to embark on a battle for recovery. In a post from a few weeks ago he had reiterated his desire to make it, posting photo of her heart book “The Art of Healing”: “For centuries healing has been a magical, shamanic art, where the talent of the alchemist doctor met the full trust of the patient, who abandoned himself to his visions; meanwhile, science has made great strides without forgetting that past”. With these words, the composer wanted to underline the trust in professionals who know how to cure not only with medicines but also with smiles.
