Bondowoso, (beritajatim.com) – The Bondowoso District Health Service (Dinkes) urges the public to be aware of the monkey pox virus or mpox.

Although so far in the Bondowoso Regency area, no patients have been infected with the virus that originally spread in Africa.

“In principle, until today there was no mpox. “Hopefully it won’t be in Bondowoso,” said Agus.

Despite this, his party is still trying to educate the public so they can expect early.

“In addition to intensive social media and face-to-face outreach, we put up billboards at various points,” he said.

The Bondowoso Health Office also collaborates with the Community Health Center through the Department of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) to increase access and preparedness in the community.

“Monkey pox has symptoms that are almost similar to pox, but the rash that appears is larger and can spread to several parts of the body,” explained Agus.

The main symptoms of monkeypox include a distinctive red rash, with headache, fever, swollen lymph nodes, muscle aches and weakness.

“Monkey pox can also cause serious medical problems, especially in vulnerable groups such as infants, children and pregnant women,” he said.

Transmission of Mpox can occur through direct contact with infected people or even through contaminated objects.

“We urge the public not to have physical contact with victims,” ​​Agus asked. (awi/but)
