Bondholders sue Buenos Aires province in New York court for unpaid debt

BUENOS AIRES, Mar 23 (Reuters) – Members of the Ad Hoc Group of bondholders from the province of Buenos Aires filed a lawsuit against the province in the Court for the Southern District of New York on Tuesday for the “continued default on payments. programmed interest and / or capital “of their titles.

Buenos Aires on Sunday offered an update on its debt swap in foreign currency before the end of the invitation period that ends next Friday.

He added that “in the meantime, they intend to vigorously pursue the legal proceedings that have begun today (Tuesday) and fully reserve their rights to exercise any other additional action or remedy at any time.”

The Group indicates that its members are final beneficiaries of eleven series of obligations issued by the Argentine province with a total capital amount of more than 7.1 billion dollars.

On the other hand, yesterday the creditor group GoldenTree Asset Management rejected the amended proposal offered by the Argentine province because it does not reflect its ability to pay.
