The cause of death has not been disclosed. “Our hearts are broken by the news of the death of our good friend Alec John Such,” the American rock group said. “Alec had a very important role in founding the band. To be honest, we found each other through him.”

Burnt-out
Such was in Bon Jovi from 1983 to 1994 and played on hits like Livin’ on a prayer. The bassist thought it was getting too much and felt “burned out,” he said in an interview with the Asbury Park Press newspaper in 2000.
“It felt like work and I didn’t want to work. The reason I ever wanted to be in a band was because I didn’t want to work.”
Such briefly returned to the band in 2018, when Bon Jovi was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
