A 250kg bomb from World War II exploded unexpectedly in Great Yarmouth on England’s east coast on Friday afternoon.
Police said it was an unplanned detonation, but no one was injured, write The Guardian.
Specialists from the British defense had previously worked to defuse the bomb, but warned that there was a risk of explosion.
– This was not planned, and it happened during slow burning work to neutralize the explosives, they wrote on Twitter.
The bomb unit was one meter long and weighed 250 kg. It was discovered by a contractor working on the River Yare. 400 meters of barriers had been set up around the area where the bomb took place.
