Former White house adviser for national security John Bolton in his book “the Room where it happened: a memoir of the White house” said that the personal attitude of the President of the United States Donald trump to Russian leader Vladimir Putin was a mystery.
“As for the ratings of Putin, he (trump. — RT) never expressed any opinion, at least in front of me. I never asked what he thought trump, perhaps for fear of what you might hear. His personal attitude to the Russian leader remained a mystery” — quoted RIA Novosti Bolton.
Earlier, Bolton said that he was afraid to leave trump tete-a-tete with Putin at a meeting in Helsinki in July 2018.
“I didn’t know that he will speak”, — answered Bolton in an interview with ABC News on the question of why he was afraid to leave trump one-on-one with Putin.
Bolton has described Putin as an intelligent and strong leader who knows his interlocutor.
The US President Donald Trump said that Bolton “broke the law”by publishing the memoirs, which contains “secret information in huge quantities”.
The White house also stated that they intend to seek the withdrawal of John Bolton profits from sales of his memoirs.
