Bolsonaro told supporters in front of the presidential palace on Monday that he visited the hospital to get tested after local media reported that the president would have symptoms of illness. According to Bolsonaro, research in the hospital has shown that his lungs are “clean”.
Brazil has been severely affected by the corona virus. The country has over 1.6 million registered infections, according to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. The death toll stands at over 65,000. Only the United States has a higher rate of infections and deaths.
